My new favourite yarn
This post isn’t so much about the pattern as it is the beauty of the yarn used to create it.
I designed this scarf to showcase the quality and the beautiful colour of Knit Picks’ yarn – Wool of the Andes Bulky in Spruce. The forest green hue really pops. This is a thick yarn that produces a heavier scarf, but one that really keeps in the warmth on a cold day. The fairly rigid structure to the yarn meant that I didn’t need to block it. This is an ideal yarn for scarves but may be too stiff for sweaters or headbands. In the puff-stitch scarf below you can see how the yarn really showcases each stitch and there’s a nice sheen to it.
Wool of the Andres Bulky also comes in other beautiful, bright shades that we can’t wait to try (check out Crush and Beach Glass on their site).
The pattern isn’t yet available as we made it on a whim after looking at the NewStitchaDay website for inspiration, but we will make it available soon.
